Dave discovered his love for photography in his early teens when he began taking photos of friends surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. As his interest developed, Dave sharpened his skills by documenting his travels through Europe, Central and South America. After graduating from San Jose State University with a major in graphic design and a minor in photography, Dave began assisting an established and talented photographer.
Dave learned the ins and outs of wedding photography while assisting at over 200 weddings throughout the bay area. In 2004, he started Dave Medal Photography and began shooting weddings on his own.
Dave's fresh approach to photography lends itself to capturing one of a kind images as precious and distinct as your wedding itself. Each of Dave's images is lovingly crafted and unobtrusively captured using a combination of fine art, fashion photography and photojournalism techniques.
One of Dave's strengths as a photographer lies in his ability to create a relaxed and comfortable setting for his subjects. Dave is able to create unique and timeless photographs while documenting fleeting, yet cherished moments that are part of the energy, tranquility, love, passion, chaos, and joy that is your wedding day.
